If you are on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Go into Floyd a very eclectic little town. Blue Ridge Cafe has good food country style at very good prices. Check out their sweet potato
Overall an okay place that needs a kitchen worthy of its wait staff.
Ate breakfast there several days. Excellent food. Great staff. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.
I think it’s the first place I have ever eaten to serve me something completely inedible. The sausage was small and over cooked to the point of not being able to be pierced by a fork!
I've been going since the new owner took over about 6 months ago. At the beginning of the new ownership, the food was good and the service was excellent. Over the past month I have gone to eat breakfast three times and have left disappointed every time. On a busy Sunday it took 45 minutes for 2 waffles and 2 scrambled eggs. I understand them being busy, but that seems a little much. My second visit went better, the food wasn't great but the service was good. Today was awful, both mine and my girlfriends waffles were under cooked. They were charred because the cooks didn't clean the press in between waffles. The waitress was very nice and offered to have them remake them but I just wanted to leave. She let us go without paying, which was very sweet of her. We left and got some real breakfast at Express down the road. I've been going to the restaurant for 6 years, I will not be back after today.
We went back the next day, and while they were sold out of biscuits and gravy, the food was decent and better than most places. The price is right and the service courteous.
The rest of the food was okay. Pancakes were fluffy and bacon was crispy. Our server was super friendly and comped us a portion of our meal because of the sausage. He also let us order off the breakfast menus even though we arrived right at 11.

The ownership changed a few months ago and despite what the website says, they stop serving brunch on Saturdays at 11am. We walked in a few minutes afterwards only to be sent away because they wouldn't serve us breakfast. Other people were doing this too, and after six months you would expect that this would change.
